About GPT Image 2.5 Flare

GPT Image 2.5 Flare is the variant fal lists as OpenAI's default image model for most applications, priced from $0.030 per image. It runs as text to image and edit with references; fal describes fast generation with natural lighting, rich textures and complex layouts, and edits that change only what is asked while the subject, composition and background stay intact.

Quality goes from Low to Max, with a higher price at each step, and the size comes from a fixed menu of frames, each with its own price; every reference image in an edit adds to the total. A typical generation takes about 1 min.

Good for

  • Everyday image work with natural lighting and rich textures
  • Complex layouts, including assets on a transparent background
  • Restyling a subject while keeping it recognizable

Getting good results

  1. Start at Medium for drafts, $0.050 for a square image, and move to High, $0.15, for the version you keep.
  2. For a cut-out, switch Background to Transparent in the Advanced settings.
